1,500 Years Young Kiev

Kiev – the capital and largest city of Ukraine. Kiev is the political, administrative and business center of the state.

Kiev lies on both banks of the Dnieper river. More than half the city is covered with forests, green areas, botanical gardens, arboretum and several parks,

Kiev is a historical city with a glorious past and it was founded over 1,500 years ago.

There are about 30 museums and large number of permanent exhibitions in Kiev. The most famous museums: the National History Museum, the Museum of Ukrainian Fine Art, Museum of Western and Oriental art.

Historical buildings of the city occupy the whole central part of the city. Here, 3 State reserved landmarks: The State Historical-Architectural Reserve “Ancient Kiev”, the National Reserve “Sophia of Kyiv”, Kyiv-Pechersk National Historical and Architectural Reserve and 8 architectural archaeological reserves. There are 3736 monuments of archeology, history, architecture and monumental art. 243 monuments have a status of monuments of national importance, including 51 monuments of international importance (defined by UNESCO).

“Borispol” is the largest airport in Kiev and in the country.

In 2010, “Borispol” has opened a new terminal F and the largest terminal D is in the final stage of construction
