Tokyo is an amazing city, because it inexplicably combines the traditions of the past and elements of contemporary urban culture. Numerous parks and squares are the most favorite places to relax for both tourists and Tokyo residents. Oriental gardens of the Imperial Palace are the most famous. Gardens are located in the inner part of the Palace and are open to the public. The garden, designed in Japanese style, where every bush and every plant creates a wonderful song in harmony with each other.
The interior of the Imperial Palace is closed to the public. The exceptions are two days when residents and tourists can visit and get inside. January 2 to celebrate the New Year, and December 23 – Emperor’s birthday. On this day visitors can get inside and also see members of the imperial family, which open onto a balcony and make public statements.
In addition, tourists often visit the Holy Mountain Fuji. This mountain is a place of recreation with a natural nature, located closest to Tokyo. Only fifty minutes from Shinjuku station and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and fresh air.
For added convenience, Mount Fuji has a few numbered and marked paths for walking. The height of the mountain is 3776 meters and it is a symmetrical volcanic cone. For those who can not walk that distance, there is a chair lift to the middle of the mountain.
Mount Fuji t is the mountain sacred mountain over thousands of years. The Yakuoin Temple, officially known as Takaosan Yakuoin Yukiji Temple located at the very mountain’s top.
Another favorite place of rest is Ueno Park. This park was opened in 1873 and its territory has a large number of attractions. Thus, at the southern entrance to the park is a monument to Saigo Takamori – a prominent figure who played an important role in Japanese history. In addition, Ueno Park is home to the first zoological preserve in Japan. The most outstanding attraction of this reserve was a panda.
